Returns, Refunds & Regrets
Look, we get it. Sometimes the vibe just isn't right.
Maybe that electric chartreuse clashed with your living room lighting, maybe you wildly overestimated how many hats you're actually going to knit this winter, or maybe you just changed your mind.
No judgment here. We want you to be obsessed with your stash. If you’re not, we’ll make the return process as painless as possible.
Here are the rules of engagement for sending stuff back to HYPE Yarns.
1. The "I Just Changed My Mind" Return
(Your Statutory Right to Cancel)
Under UK law, you have a "cooling-off period."

You have 14 days from the day your order arrives to tell us you want to return it.

You then have another 14 days from the day you told us to actually get it in the post back to us.
The Condition Rule (Crucial!)
We aren't a second-hand store. To get a full refund, the items must come back to us in brand new, sellable condition.
This means:

Ball bands must be intact. Don't take the labels off.

No smells. If it smells like smoke, pets, strong perfume, or last night's takeaway, we can't accept it.

Untouched. Do not cake it, wind it, or knit a swatch with it. If it's been on your needles, it belongs to you now.
Who pays for shipping?
If you are just changing your mind, you cover the cost of return shipping. We strongly recommend using a tracked service. We can’t refund a box that gets lost in the post abyss.
2. The "Houston, We Have a Problem" Return
(Faulty, Damaged, or Wrong Items)
Did we mess up? It happens.
If you open your box and find:

We sent you Hyper Pink instead of Transformative Teal.

The yarn is damaged, dirty, or has a massive manufacturing knot halfway through the skein.

Something is missing from your kit.
Stop what you're doing and email us immediately.
Don't worry about shipping costs here. We will provide a prepaid return label. We will fix it fast by offering you a full refund (including original shipping costs) or sending out a replacement ASAP.
3. The "No-Go" Zones (Exceptions)
There are a few things we can't accept returns on, sorry:

Digital Patterns: As soon as you click that download link, it’s yours forever. We can't "un-send" a PDF.

Gift Cards: These are final sale.

Used Items: As mentioned above, if you've started crafting with it, it's yours.
4. How to Initiate a Return
Don't just ghost us and randomly post a box back. Let us know it's coming so we can look out for it.

Drop an email to hello@hypyarns.com with your Order Number in the subject line.

Briefly tell us what you're returning and why (e.g., "Changed my mind," or "Item is faulty").

Wait for our reply (we're quick!).

Pack your items securely. (Pro tip: Reuse the HYPE mailing bag it came in—it’s better for the planet).

5. Show Me The Money (Refund Timing)
Once your return lands at HYPE HQ, give our team 3-5 business days to inspect it and make sure it passes the condition check.
If it’s all good, we’ll process the refund automatically back to your original payment method.
Note: Depending on your bank or payment provider (looking at you, PayPal), it can sometimes take up to 10 working days for the cash to actually reappear in your account after we press the button.
